As a mom of six, I had to deal with the struggles of losing weight with each pregnancy. I really struggled to lose the baby weight after baby number two. I workout out faithfully, I “eat clean”, and I breastfeed exclusively. But, I was stuck at a weight that was about 35 pounds heavier than I wanted. I did not know what I was doing wrong. I needed help!

I truly understand what it feels like to just want the weight you gained during pregnancy to be gone. The tips below helped me and I hope they help you!

# 11 Believe You Can Lose the Weight

You can lose weight after pregnancy and stop the seemingly endless struggle. It is possible for you to have energy and to feel confident again!  You are not doomed to look six months pregnant when you’re pregnant at all.  Why am I so sure that you can lose the baby’s weight?   I know you are strong-willed, determined, and powerful.  I hope to remind you of this fact. It takes a strong will, determination, and power to carry another human within you.

# 10 Don’t be Afraid of Tough Workouts that Make Your Sweat

Pregnancy and birth are beautiful experiences, but even beauty can have a down-side.  Pregnancy may cause morning sickness, back pains, aches, swelling, and even disappointment at times. BUT, you got through this!  And, birth can mean hours of pain and complications-some of which are life-threatening.  BUT, you got through this!  You are tough! You have what it takes to get through pregnancy and birth. You can get through tough workouts after you are cleared by your doctors. Stay safe. Work hard. Be consistent. There are many fitness plans and modalities to make this happen so you can lose baby weight safely and quickly.

# 9 Give Yourself Permission to Go After What You Want

I want your struggles to lose the baby weight to end. I want you to be empowered with items you need to lose the baby weight fast! You want this too if you are still reading. But, neither of our wants matters, if you do not give yourself permission to go after want you.

Don’t get stuck in the delay of finding another mommy friend, spouse, etc. to give their approval to change you and your body for the better. Support is nice, but do not make it necessary to get you to take action to lose the baby weight. If you really enjoy having support, make sure the support is reliable and engaged in a calorie-burning activity.

# 8 Accept that You Deserve to be Happy

I believe every mom deserves an opportunity to feel confident about her body after birth. The book I co-authored with my husband helps moms be mentally empowered to lose the baby weight.

There is a belief that once you become a mom, your only focus is on your child or children. This belief sound loving-towards your children. But, it is not showing yourself, love. Your child, their father and you deserve to be happy. If losing weight will add to your happiness, then go for it will all of your heart.

# 7 Understand What is Possible for Your Body

I distinctly remember when my struggle to lose the baby weight began.  After giving birth to our second child and first-born son, I was REALLY stuck at being 35 pounds heavier than my normal weight.  It may sound silly now, but this made me feel worried.  I began to doubt myself and my body’s ability to lose weight after having two kids.  I consciously understood that weight loss after birth was possible, especially after looking at celebrity moms and magazine covers of fit moms.  But, I began to doubt if weight loss after birth was actually physically possible for me.

# 6 Begin a diet that agrees with your body and lifestyle

Far too often do I hear and see people excited about the latest fade diet that they saw on social media. Often these diets are not conducive to the body or lifestyle of the person. For example, a woman in menopause who is a very busy grandma and corporate executive working long hours and must make many presentations. She is excited about following an aggressive, detox-diet that a 25-year-old, stay-at-home wife with no kids is following. The issues and needs of the woman in menopause are different than the second woman. Each woman should consider the requirements of each diet BEFORE they begin a meal plan.

# 5 Start an exercise plan that agrees with your body and lifestyle

Just like with nutrition, I hear and see people excited about the latest exercise style. And, these exercise modalities do not consider the modalities primary purpose. For instance, a 25-year-old woman how wants to lose 20 pounds in three months, may get more weight loss results with weightlifting and/or cardio heavy modalities versus a 30-minute Restorative yoga class one day a week. Learn about the modalities that are right for you.

# 4 Start a Realistic Workout Schedule

One sure way to be inconsistent with your weight loss goals is to not make a schedule or a workout plan to exercise. Your health must be managed just like your money. Get organized and get results.

# 3 Use Reliable information

This is SO much information and myths out there about health and fitness. What do you follow? What information is right with you and your body. Be sure to do your own research and consult your doctor and a certified fitness professional that can understand your struggles and help you to overcome them.

# 2 Learn from your Past.

If you do not know why you have failed to keep your results, then it is time for you to examine yourself. For instance, you may have gotten excellent results for a new job or a new relationship. Then, tragedy struck and you gain all of your weight back and more. Perhaps, you need to examine your eating habits when you are stressed. Learning from your past and how to overcome emotional eating may be your key to success.

# 1 Be patient with yourself.

Weight loss is possible for moms no matter the number of children they have had. It is possible for you and your body. You just may need to read number six through one carefully and take immediate action.

When I think about it, I was not worried that I was overweight with two kids at the time.  I believe that beauty comes in all shapes, sizes, colors, and cultures.  But, I was worried because I felt powerless to change my own body.  The common-sense fitness approach (exercise and eat healthily) was not working -at least not as fast as I thought it should.  Thankfully, my husband is not only a loving dad to our children but he is a veteran Personal Trainer, Health and Wellness Expert, Author, phenomenal motivator and so much more.

I have learned a lot from his handsome self throughout my weight loss after the birth journey.  And, truth be told, I learn from his brilliant mind every day.  Now, I am a Certified Health and Fitness Professional with the knowledge, power, and passion to teach others how to lose weight, especially after birth.  I am passionate about helping other moms who may also worry about losing weight after birth to stop worrying.  I am here to help beautiful mamas like you to get the body you want and deserve.  I do not want ANY woman or mom to feel powerless to change her own body.  I want moms to have confidence in their entire spirit, soul, and body.
